The Focke-Wulf FW-190A or the Butcher Bird was one of best fighters of its generation. The FW-190A was used during World War II and more than 20,000 were manufactured. The Fw 190 was a single seat, single engine fighter aircraft of Germanys Luftwaffe. It was favored by pilots because of its superiority over other aircraft. Compared to the Messerschmitt bf 109, the FW-190A was a workhorse and a very versatile aircraft. It also served as a ground attack aircraft, long range bomber escort, night fighter and high altitude interceptor.
