The Boeing 727 was a narrow-body three-engined jet built from the early 1960s to 1984, carried 149 to 189 passengers and had a medium range up to 2,700 miles (5,000 km). Notable features were three engines below the T-tail, one on each side of the rear fuselage with a center engine fed through an S-duct above the fuselage. It was the mainstay of airline domestic routes with a total production of 1,832 aircraft built.
